It all started at the hospital.

Andrew and Katie Cohen were expecting their first child, and at each doctor's appointment, Andrew would ask questions to prepare for the big day.

He sat by Katie's side as the doctor explained their first child was breech and they would need a C-section. As a soon-to-be dad, he wanted to ensure he was prepared in every way.

One of the many questions was — if this was going to be a few days in the hospital, “where do I sleep?”

The doctor laughed. Most people, soon-to-be parents and internet Karens agree — the dad can tough it out for a few days.

However, after doing a birthing class within the hospital delivery rooms, and reading the thousands of social posts about the dreaded hospital couch — this was a VERY real problem.

So we went to work on prototyping and creating a product that fit the hospital couch with precision. From testing foam density and softness to creating custom sheets and a bag to carry the product in — the Dad Pad was born.

With Dad Pad, our mission is to create a product that equips parents (mostly Dads) with everything they need to defeat the hospital furniture.

Because while Dad Pad is for Dad, we ultimately want to ensure Mom gets all the TLC (and none of the complaints about an aching back) she deserves.

We also learned through having 3 kids — you may be in the hospital for other things (overnights, surgeries, your own parents, etc.). This product is so versatile and meant to help make the hospital just a little bit comfier.

We love this product like it's our 4th kid. It's soft, doesn't talk back, and helps you sleep (which any parent knows is priceless).
